Lyndee Pellettiere-Swapp, a 45-year-old woman from Arizona, was found unconscious at her home by her son, Steven, when he came home. He called the police right away, in a rush to help get his mother to safety.
When he checked her into the hospital, the doctors informed his entire family that Lyndee was in a coma—a coma she stayed in for 12 days. Eventually, doctors told the family there was nothing that could be done. To follow Lyndee’s wishes to donate her organs, the medical team suggested she be pulled off life support.
But in fact, she was alive and very conscious the whole time!
This is her incredible and thought provoking story!
The family was finally convinced there is nothing more they can do, and they decided to say their final goodbyes to Lyndee, and started speaking to her one by one.
Even though she was in the void, she could actually hear them. Lyndee began to realize how much danger she was in.
“I could just hear everybody having conversations,” she says.
She heard doctors explaining how the the family would witness the process of her dying. It must have been terrifying and agitating for Lyndee being unable to move, talk and communicate but to be trapped in a comatose state while her physical body is put to death.
What Lyndee’s family didn’t know was that she could hear everything that was going on around her. “It was very agitating,” she says. “I couldn’t move, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t respond.”
“I’m a fighter,” Lyndee managed to say. The family was blown away! Just as they were saying goodbye to their mama, just after they had pulled the plug, there she was alive, alert, a fighter.
“Just because you’re not conscious doesn’t mean you can’t hear,” Lyndee says, “so you should talk to your loved ones if somebody’s in that situation.”
Please SHARE this family’s amazing story if you think it shows you should never give up on a loved one!
