Is this inevitable, or is there still hope in saving these cities?
Global warming is a growing threat to Earth’s life forms. It is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate. Scientists say at least one billion people in Asia and China are at risk from declining water flows on the Tibetan Plateau.
Apparently, Seven cities in the country will be greatly affected by the continuous rise of ocean water because of climate change.
In a report showed by the Asian Development Bank, flooding will be a severe problem by year 2085., scientists warning the citizens that seven cities may be part of the ocean by 2085.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said that typhoons and flooding as a result of climate change will damage more houses in the Philippines by 2085 as seven cities are seen vulnerable to the rise in sea levels.
Effects are starting to show in the past typhoons. According to newsinmanila, the ground of the Metro Manila in the Philippines is sinking as the water level continues to gain height. The exploitation of pumping ground water is causing the city to sink at least 6 centimeters per year and scientists predict that in 10 to 20 years, the Metro will be underwater. Over the next 50 years, the seal level surrounding the Philippine region will rise by at least 10 feet. The only way to slow the sinking process is to limit big businesses and home owners from using groundwater.
Aside from Manila City, a study by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research states that Malabon, Taguig, Caloocan, Davao, Butuan, and Iloilo will soon become a part of the ocean water.
By the year 2085, the study predicted that the altitude of water may increase up to more than one meter that will cause many low-lying countries to be submerged underwater.

ADB added that scientists are making lots of effort to lessen the frightening effects of climate change in the world.
For us in the Philippines, we must do our part to help lessen the effects of Global Warming. This may only happen if we continue not to care about our nature. It's now and never.
