Celebrities Nag React sa P1000 Budget ng Commission on Human Rights

A few celebrities have spoken out against the P1,000 budget, approved by 119 lawmakers, to be given to the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) in 2018.

Bianca Gonzales pointed out that the budget is not enough to pay for bills and the salary of its staff.

Dingdong Dantes also shared his frustration that only 32 lawmakers in the congress voted against the P1,000 budget. “Buti si Rep. Atienza of Buhay--among many others-- voted against it. Ay teka, 32 nga lang pala sila. How in the world can that be alright?” Dingdong posted.

TV5 star Jun Sabayton also cried foul over the issue.

As for Lipa City Representative Vilma Santos, she clarified that she was against the budget but that she was not able to vote against it because she was sick.

“I am against cutting the budget of the CHR. The commission has a duty to perform its constitutional mandate. “With so many crimes/EJK – it needs more resources for these investigations. “I wasn’t able to attend yesterday’s session cause I had an ulcer attack. Am under medication. But will work today,”
