Some Pinoy celebrities have also given their personal opinion on the death of 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos. Like other netizens, they also demand justice for the death of a teenager in the hands of police in accordance with the "war on drugs" of the Duterte administration.
The news last week has been the talk of the town, where at the police raids were made, of which 32 were reported in Bulacan, while 25 others in Metro Manila. Among those killed was 17-year-old Kian Loyd delos Santos.
Dingdong Dantes, Enchong Dee, Bianca Gonzalez, Tony Labrusca, and Pokwang are among the latest statuses of President Rodrigo Duterte's widespread anti-drug campaign.
The actor gave a statement on the 8th anniversary of the Yes Pinoy Foundation, along with the launch of the I Am Super Campaign: An Art Exhibit for Resilience.
The star of GMA-7 primetime series Alyas Robin Hood believes that the incident was wrong.
This is the total of Dingdong's statement at the event:
"While I believe that the drug problem is really a menace to our society, it should not be fought at the expense of lives.
“Any life—a policeman's life, a bystander's life—anyone, especially a young person's life.
“Kian was 17 years old.
“Based on our studies in the National Youth Commission, he belonged to the child youth bracket, the one we consider the most vulnerable.
“He could have been the next best policeman of his city.
“Our president of the country.
“But he was not given the chance anymore to do so.
"I would want to believe that with this incident, right now, we all agree on one thing—that it is wrong."
Enchong re-tweeted on the news posted at ABS-CBN's social media account about Kian's parents asking for justice for the killing of their child. They cry, their child is innocent and does not have any drugs, such as accusing him. In the tweet of the Kapamilya actor, he mentioned the high trust rating of the President, but the incidents like Kian should stop.
Yet his trust rating... nevermind... this has to end. https://t.co/hflntoLFkw
