Japoy Lizardo, a Filipino taekwondo practitioner, actor and commercial model first garnered attention at the 2001 Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships where he captured the silver medal in the men’s finweight. By 2016, Japoy now serves as head coach of the Philippine national taekwondo team.
Japoy is married with co-taekwondo artist Janice Lagman since May 8, 2016. They had a 5-month old son named Jace Alonzo. He’s adorable and Japoy’s little champion. Netizens gush over his cuteness.
Japoy seems already grooming his son to become a champion in the popular Korean martial art. On Instagram, Japoy puts out a photo of his baby clad in a custom-made taekwando uniform. He captioned the photo: “My future world and olympic champion ready to fight!”
For the first pictorial of his family, Japoy, his wife Janice, who is a two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist in poomsae taekwondo, and Baby Jace all wear their black belts and Team Philippines uniforms. Janice’s caption reads: “The family that kicks together stays together.”
For now, the Taekwondo champion simply looks forward to what the future holds for their son. In an Instagram post, Japoy wrote: “What will he be when he grows up? A model/actor? A professional basketball player? Or A Taekwondo champion?”
